# HUMADEX Research Group

## Overview
Welcome to the world of the **HUMADEX Research Group** from the **Laboratory for Digital Signal Processing** at the **Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Maribor**. We take pride in being a young and enthusiastic team of researchers, driven by a shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and innovation in the dynamic field of **Artificial Intelligence**.

As reliable and proactive partners in projects funded by **Horizon Europe**, our focus lies particularly on **Research and Innovation Actions (RIA)** and **Innovation Actions (IA)**, with a specialization in pilots conducted in clinical and educational environments. Our multidisciplinary group brings together experts with diverse knowledge and skills covering:

- Advancing conversational intelligence
- Spoken and natural language generation and processing
- Digital Interventions and Patient Sensing
- Decision support systems and care planning 
- Artificial Intelligence and Explainable AI
- Piloting, Study Design, and Management

We foster cross-collaboration with psychologists and psychiatrists, both within our team and from the **Faculty of Philosophy of University of Maribor**, particularly in the fields of **human-centric research**, **independent living**, **mental health**, and **pedo-psychiatry**.

## Our Social Robot: Frida
Another member of our research group is **Social Robot Frida**, reflecting our dedication to exploring the vast possibilities of AI in enhancing human experiences and contributing to more patient-centric healthcare. Through collaborative efforts, and with strong support from domain experts at **University Medical Center Maribor**, we aspire to redefine the capabilities of digital solutions and artificial intelligence, where technology intersects with our daily lives.
