Natural Language Processing Recommender Systems Generative AI

SWAP is an acronym for Semantic Web and Personalization Research Lab, a research laboratory within the Department of Computer Science at the University of Bari, Italy. The research group has consistently been at the forefront of groundbreaking research in the fields of semantics, recommender systems, personalization, natural language processing, information retrieval, and more.

The research group is dedicated to developing innovative techniques for efficiently processing, organizing, indexing, and querying large-scale unstructured data enabling users to find relevant information accurately. Personalization lies at the core of SWAP's research endeavors. The lab investigates methods to tailor content, services, and user experiences based on individual preferences, behaviors, and contexts. SWAP researchers are deeply involved in natural language processing, aiming to bridge the gap between human language and machine understanding. They develop algorithms for tasks such as text classification, sentiment analysis, named entity recognition, and machine translation, contributing to the advancement of the field.

SWAP's expertise in machine learning spans a diverse range of applications, and the lab continuously strives to push the boundaries of this field. Their work encompasses recommender systems, natural language processing and understanding, information retrieval, personalization, and semantics. The group has published its research in top-tier journals and conferences, and they actively collaborate with industry partners to bring their innovations to real-world applications.
